Ford Goes Bronze With Their Latest Mustang Mach-E GT Package

The Ford Motor Company has expanded the appearance package options for their 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT to include a bronze grille, 20-inch sinister bronze-finished alloy wheels, and bronze badging, according to a report from Autoweek.

The Mach-E GT base model comes with all-wheel drive, courtesy of its dual-electric motor setup, which sees one motor sending power to the rear axle while the other powers the front axle. The Mach-E GT’s dual-electric motor setup generates about 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. However, if someone upgrades to the Mach-E’s GT Performance Edition, they will get 634 pound-feet of torque.

Other standard 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT features include a 91-kWh battery pack and 15.15-inch front brake rotors. The vehicle also sports a MagneRide dampening system and a 10-way power driver’s seat. According to Autoweek’s report, Ford plans to offer an optional performance upgrade for the 2024 Mach-E GT; however, the Blue Oval has yet to reveal any specs for this upgrade.

Motor Trend has called the Mustang Mach-E “an impressive electric machine with plenty of sports car capability and feel, both in style and performance.” They also report that the Mach-E had “decent sales” in 2023. The Mach-E sold 40,771 units last year, which Motor Trend notes shows positive growth from 2022’s sales figures. However, like other legacy automakers, Ford is also planning to scale back on the volume of their EV production this year. This move will likely affect the Mach-E’s sales numbers this year.

The 2024 Mach-E GT’s Bronze Appearance Package Price Point

Autoweek’s report also states that Ford’s 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT bronze appearance package will have a starting price of $60,990. However, there will also be a destination charge of $1,800. Not including taxes and other fees, this brings the Mach-E GT’s bronze appearance package to $62,790.

While the Mach-E GT bronze appearance package looks cool, it’s beyond what most Americans can afford at that price point. The average American income falls shy of $60,000 a year. When factoring in monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance costs, it becomes clear that to buy a new vehicle, the buyer must make around $100,000 a year.

Motor Trend’s report stated that people often criticize the Mach-E’s starting price as overinflated. They also speculated that Ford could see the public’s demand for the Mustang Mach-E increase if the automaker lowered its starting price and revamped its packaging and marketing. Though considering that the automaker has teased that a new performance update for the Mach-E will be coming later this year, Ford seems to believe that a performance upgrade is the best way to drum up sales for the vehicle.

Online orders for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT will start later this year.
