Tesla Is Back On The Hiring Train
There is no way you can possibly call Elon Musk boring unless you refer to his tunnel-digging enterprise. After a spring cleaning at Tesla that would make Marie Kondo blush, the company is restarting its hiring campaign. With the firing done and the dust settled, Tesla’s corridors must have felt pretty empty because suddenly, hundreds of new positions are up for grabs.
Tesla Performs High-Speed U-Turn
It has been only a few months since Musk stormed through Tesla HQ and announced sweeping layoffs. As many as 20% of staff lost their jobs, and no department was spared. Top brass and assembly line workers were left holding pink slips in what could be called an equivalent of musical chairs, but on a corporate scale. Unlike in the game, though, being left without a chair was life-changing for many employees.
After the firing spree came a total hiring freeze. There was absolutely no word when the company was going to open its doors, with an internal reshuffle taking place. Then, a trickle of job postings appeared, but interestingly, only related to experts in the fields of AI and robotics. Elon Musk isn’t one to miss a trend, that’s for sure.
Now, the slow trickle has turned into a flood. Job postings are showing up faster than Superchargers at rest stops. Hundreds of openings are available across all departments, clearly showing that Tesla has gone a bit too far with letting people go. Many of those who lost their jobs are now looking to be rehired. It’s never a boring day at Tesla.
Tesla’s New Job Lineup
Sales and service jobs are at the top of Tesla’s shopping list. It should be no surprise that the front-line people who sell the dream and fix what needs to be fixed are in high demand. After all, they are the ones keeping Tesla owners happy. Tesla is also looking for engineers with brilliant minds to design the next Cybertruck or finally crack the code for fully autonomous driving.
Interestingly, there are job offers for chemists and mining engineers. That is the clearest confirmation that the company is finally getting into the lithium mining and refining business. And, of course, AI and robotics experts are in demand. These are the people who will build the brains of future Teslas.
If you’re thinking of jumping on the Tesla train, you better be ready for the wildest ride of your life. There will be highs of solving real-world problems and driving the EV revolution. There will be lows of sudden layoffs and late-night tweets from the boss. But it will be an experience like no other, one that will teach you things you never knew and open many new doors.
