Tesla Have Roadside Assistance, But Not In All Areas!

You can have RA aka Roadside Assistance service if your car is backed by a warranty or service agreement.

If you experience an urgent situation while driving, you can call RA service and Tesla’s team will rush to help you out. However, this service is available in North America, Asia/Pacific, Europe, and some states of the Middle East.

Here is a list of countries where you can access Tesla’s Roadside Assistance service:

  • North America – USA, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Asia/Pacific – Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and so on.
  • Europe – Germany, Ireland, Denmark, Croatia, Cyprus, Norway, Poland, the UK, Romania, Sweden, Spain, and so on.
  • Middle East – Jordan, UAE, etc.

But you won’t find the RA services in some areas such as Ceuta, Melilla, and some regions of Europe (French Guiana, Mayotte, and so on). Plus, those zones that don’t have a Tesla store or service center won’t offer the RA services.

To have this service, bear in mind the car needs to be backed in a warranty or service agreement. Or else, your car won’t get the Tesla’s RA services!

What Does Tesla Roadside Assistance Cover?

Tesla’s Roadside Assistance covers a range of problems that can happen while driving your car. These include:

Breakdown

If your car breaks down and can’t be driven, Tesla’s team will cover it if the car is within 800 km of the Tesla Service Center (TSC).

Flat Tire

Any harm to the wheel or tire like puncture, flat, or driving in unsafe conditions is covered by the RA service. In that case, the flat tire service is given if the car is nearly 80 km (50 miles) from the Service Center.

In fact, Tesla gives transportation benefits for the first 50 miles of a new car to reach TSC. As Tesla does not have run flat tires, ensure to check the suitable tire type of your car if replacement is needed.

Lockout

If you get locked inside your car due to issues with the vehicle, fob, or app, Tesla will send experts to help you unlock it if the car is within 80 km of the Service Center.

Out Of Range

RA will give help resolve issues of battery charge or car not being able to make it to the Supercharger, Destination Charging, or other charging stations. Even if it’s not a financially covered service, still Tesla will roadside assist you.

What Tesla Roadside Assistance Doesn’t Cover?

In some situations, Roadside Assistance is not available to repair the issues on the spot or costs some charges. These are some examples of issues which isn’t covered by RA service:

  • Tire, window, door, and so on parts repair or replacement.
  • Damage due to accidents, crashes, getting hit, off-road rides, or overload.
  • Abuse of car cosmetics or parts.
  • Removal or installing snow chain.
  • Moving animals or livestock and so on.

Who Does Tesla Roadside Assistance Cover?

The Roadside Assistance is covered for specific drivers who can get this special treatment from Tesla team. Those are:

  • Car owner or an owner-authorized driver who has a Tesla car with New or Used Basic Vehicle Limited coverage.
  • An owner who has a Tesla car that is covered in Extended Service Agreement in a country that contains an official TSA or Tesla store.
  • The new buyer of a used Tesla has time remaining on the warranty coverage.

How Does Tesla Roadside Assistance Work?

The Roadside Assistance service is an all-time service that all used or new Teslas get when needed. To get this facility, you’ll need to contact the RA service through a phone call and then describe the issue.

Next, explain the exact issue that you are facing and then they will provide an expert team to the location where you are at. And then, they’ll fix the issue on the spot using high-end tools and machines. 

If the problem of Tesla can’t be fixed on the spot, then they will tow your car to the nearest Service Center (around 800 km or 80 km based on service type). In that case, they might take small service fees and then fix the issue.

Does Tesla Have Free Roadside Assistance?

Tesla offers free RA (Roadside Assistance) services if your car is backed by the 2 protections. These are:

  • Tesla Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty.
  • Extended Service Agreement.

So, is Tesla Roadside Assistance free completely? The answer is no as you’ll need to pay fees in some cases even if the car is backed in assurance.

If the RA service needs to move your car through towing, it will require some additional charges of around $10 – $150 based on the distance.

How To Contact Tesla Roadside Assistance?

Note: You can use the Tesla app to choose the Roadside Assistance option and appoint the request for help.
